Teens and Adults

What can therapy be like?

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, suffering, trauma or stress; in our sessions you can find a path towards healing. Our therapy sessions focus on providing you with an outlet to process your experiences in a way that can lead to deeper meaning, healing, and growth.

As a licensed clinical professional counselor, I have experience utilizing mindfulness, inner child work, symbolism, and relational therapies. As a creative arts therapist, I have specialized training in using creative arts modalities to support the therapeutic process.

For many teens, this might include using video games, anime, tabletop games, Marvel comics, Star Wars, and other themes/modalities that feel right for the teen. Therapy doesn’t have to be just talking, but through games, creative expression, and other modalities we can find a way to improve quality of life.

With adults, we can often explore any modality that sounds interesting alongside traditional talk therapy. Our sessions can incorporate verbal processing, reflection, mindfulness, ACT techniques, and creative expression.

In our work together, we can create a path that incorporates whatever modes of therapy that can be helpful to you; this is your journey.

I often tell my clients that therapy is similar to talking a walk. A walk where you and I talk along the way, discuss what’s going on for you, and explore new places. In those new places, it’s my job to shine a light in the darkness and provide you with a safe space where you can feel empowered

The therapeutic relationship is incredibly important to therapy and our ability to connect with each other directly impacts your progress. I value open, honest, and authentic communication within the therapy space in a way that is supportive to your growth. Clients have described me as warm, kind, a positive spirit, humorous, and invested in others’ wellbeing.

What are the logistics?

Our sessions occur on a weekly schedule to support consistency with growth and reduce the likelihood of regression. Individual sessions are $110 per hour.

At this time I am an out-of-network provider and do not directly accept insurances. However, many insurance plans are able to reimburse you for your out-of-pocket therapy expenses. This means that you are responsible for your up-front therapy expenses at the time of service. I can then provide you with a detailed invoice (called a “superbill”) that you can sent to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. It may be a good idea to reach out with your insurance company to determine their process in handling out-of-network providers.
